Our Company

About RCS Engineering: RCS Robotics was founded in 2008 to bring the excitement and inspiration of the BEST Robotics Competition to the Russellville City School System. Since then, our team has grown to include over thirty students from the three schools.

RCS Robotics competed in the Tennessee Valley BEST competition in 2009 and 2010; then seeing a growing need to expand the scientific and engineering resources available to the students of Russellville City Schools, RCS Robotics changed it’s name to RCS Engineering.  With this change the group joined Team America Rocketry Challenge to better prepare it’s members for not only the future in robotics, but also rocketry.

In 2011, RCS Engineering led the charge to establish a BEST Hub in the North West Alabama Area.  Through the hard work of Mr. Brownell and the support of the Shoals Area Chamber of Commerce and North West Schoals Community College, that dream was realized in October of 2011.  During the first year of competition at NW Best, RCS Engineering placed 2nd over all in the robotics portion of the competition and 1st over all in the BEST portion of the competition and will be traveling to Auburn to compete in December of 2011.

During RCS Engineering’s first appearance in Auburn, the company’s website won first place out of 50 teams in the BEST East Regional finals.  RCS Engineering is proud of its website as it provides valuable information about the company, its products and future goals.  Although the company’s robot, The Bugsnatcher, did not place in the robotics portion of the Auburn competition, the lessons learned will carry forward to many more endeavors.
